ABOUT US

We are a family that is dedicated to following our master, Jesus Christ, to the ends of the earth. We desire to see
worshippers of the one true God coming from the forgotten indigenous peoples of the world.

We believe that giving people the Bible in their own language, and equipping them to use it in their personal, church and community lives, is the surest way to ensure that people from every tribe, tongue and nation will one day worship before the throne of God.

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. (Revelation 7:9 NIV)

A Personal Journey

Both Tammy and I had an interest in missions before we met. Tammy spent her junior and senior high school years in Peru as a Wycliffe missionary kid, while I had some short-term missions experience as a high school student.

We met in October 1991 at Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan. We both sensed God leading us into cross-cultural ministry and to Bible college to begin our training. We later spent two-and-a-half years communicating by phone and letters. During this time Tammy did a DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM, while I served with Latin America Mission in Mexico City for six months.

We were happily married on August 6, 1994. During our first two years of marriage, we focused on getting me through Bible college. At this time Tammy has a Bachelor of Biblical Studies and I have a Bachelor of Religious Education with a major in world missions. We completed three semesters of linguistics training which was a Masters level program. Our focus was on literacy and Scripture-use work. I have recently completed my Master of Arts in Leadership from Trinity Western University. www.twu.ca/leadership

Shortly after we were married we began attending SouthSide Church in Chilliwack, BC and were active in leading a home group and in other ministries until we went overseas in 1999.

Caleb was born to us in December 1997. Jesse joined us 21 months later in September 1999.

In December 1999 we left Canada and headed to Costa Rica where we spent 8 months learning to speak Spanish, the national language of Peru and much of Latin America.

We arrived in Peru in August 2000 and began to prepare ourselves to move to the city of Cusco, which is in southern Peru, high in the Andes mountains at an elevation of 11,300 feet or 3400m above sea level.

Upon arriving in Cusco I spent a considerable amount of time learning to speak the Quechua language, which is spoken by approximately 2 million people in southern Peru.
